I am very happy to support this cause in any way I can, unfortunately while not financially able, I will willingly give practical support in any way I can. The home of the creator of the most iconic British detective should be preserved at all costs for the sake of of our culture and generations to come.

I used to live in the property around 1999.
At the time this was a very underun Hotel. I was one of 2 residents, the other being a tree surgeon who's name i cannot remember right now.
The Place was full of beauty and history, although run down it really showed its historical value.
There were many old pictures inside and very elegant decor including and amazing staircase.
It is a pity to see the property in such a state. I had revisited the property in 2008 only to find it abandoned and in disarray.
Im my opinion, the propery should be used for Educational, or community use in the mean time. Im sure out of the 13,000 signatures on this petition enough people have the skills and ability to revamp the place to a standard ready for temporary use.
Maybe a good suggestion is to bring more attention to the propery from the main A3 as from what i am aware it is quietly tucked out of view from such a mass audience.
As the saying goes, "Out of sight, Out of mind"..........
It would be a tragedy to see one of Britains amazing historical properties go again under the hammer for profit.........

Great opportunity to save, again, another building for our descendants. Sherlock Holmes is, argueably, one of the most iconic British characters of all time and as the author, the home of Conan-Doyle must be preserved for the nation. What a chance to give Sherlock a new Holmes (pun) and possibly a new HQ.

Its vital this is saved once lost it can be replicated...its a no brainer for me and I will do all I can to stop it being taken away from us.

I started to enjoy literature thanks to Conana Doyle's novel.

Somewhat ironically - there is absolutely no mystery as to why Undershaw should be saved - it's an important part of our national heritage of course! Elementary my dear... friends!

It is apalling that, after all these years and all the effort put behind saving this building, the Council insists on destroying such a monument to a genius. Their reasons behind this decision are lost to me, but know that we will keep supporting Undershaw no matter what! Money is no replacement to heritage, people.
