I would just like to say i am a huge fan of Sir Conan Doyle and Sherlock Holmes, i felt as if i could connect with his stories. The connection started when i was quite young and has never left me. I have even wrote The Strange Case of Caroline Maxwell, which has Sherlock Holmes within it (of course getting the acceptance from The Conan Doyle Estate first!) and it is my most proud moment to have completed it, i feel in some odd way i have played a small part in keeping Sherlock alive. It is sad to hear Undershaw is not safe, when
places such as Dickens home is. I hope it will survive. I have often wondered 'if buildings could talk, what stories would they tell?' and i bet Undershaw has a few stories of its own. If there is anything i can do, please let me know.

Putting Undershaw under threat again is as if the council is being run after the system of Dr. Tarr and Professor Fether. Conan Doyle's importance as one of the most influential British writers of the Victorian age is much greater than just Sherlock Holmes, of course; whoever tries to destroy Undershaw, and the memory of the great mind who lived there (and with a stubbornness that let one wonder about the possibility of ill will behind it) should be aware of this, and has to be remembered of it constantly.

It is apalling that, after all these years and all the effort put behind saving this building, the Council insists on destroying such a monument to a genius. Their reasons behind this decision are lost to me, but know that we will keep supporting Undershaw no matter what! Money is no replacement to heritage, people.

Waverley Council you've done it again! Why do you insist on getting rid of this building?
What else have you got in Hindhead and your borough? Not a great deal of culture but a lot of ruins but let me tell you, you don't get to ruin this building!
