Clever chemists have concocted a legal substance that apparently gives users a high similar to marijuana. Therefore, prohibitionists will rush to make K2 illegal, thus compounding the foolishness of the war on drugs. It makes no more sense to criminalize K2 than Rum, Beer or Cigarettes. At present, K2 is for sale in retail locations in Tennessee to persons who are 18 years old or older. Where it is taxed and helps to provide much needed tax revenue. No black market exists for K2. No crime is committed to get money to buy the product at prices driven high by its illegal status. As a legal substance, the government could oversee its safety, though by all accounts it is a benign concoction of botanical ingredients already known for safety, some of which are inherent in marijuana. Yet, rushing to political high ground, politicians quickly promise to outlaw K2, Jumping on the political bandwagon. Having no scientific or rational reason to do so.
