Arts Students Against Cuts
We the undersigned are strongly concerned for the wellbeing of the arts in England. The government, having cut funding of arts in schools, libraries and the UK film council, has now also completely cut the funding to 206 arts organistations. If these organisations cannot secure private funding they will close. The loss of funding in the arts sector will mean an irrevocable change in the cultural community be it on a large commercial gallery scale or on a small rural gallery or theatre. There should not be a price on our nations culture, nor should it be compromised for future generations. The undersigned demand a stop to the cuts in the arts sector and a review to be made on funding decisions to do with all the arts.
