The term “appropriateness” is open to numerous interpretations. It will more than likely morph with time and changes in membership to any governing board. This endangers the “Certificate of Appropriateness” to an arbitrary nature.
Also, most of the newer homes that have been built have attempted to blend in nicely.
I am opposed to another layer of control
And headache (and cost) to homeowners.

I have too much money invested to be limited on my color and landscaping choices.. I moved out of a restrictive neighborhood to the village.. I don't want to have to move again..

Another attempt at government (even local) overreach. I used to live in the Village, and there is NO need for a "nanny" to determine what is or is not in good taste. Not American to try to legislate "taste"

I feel a home owner should have rights. I believe that if someone wants to paint their house pink, let them paint it pink. They have tried to pass something like this 25 years ago or so and they village was up in arms about it. I don’t agree with new regulations.

I advocate for less government, not more. We have a system in place, whereby any changes to your property already have to be approved by the city, so why do we need another layer of approval?
Who requested that this be added- was it the city, or some small group of constituents, a group of "Kevins and Karens", who want to control the Village?
This is precisely the type of behavior that caused Zionsville to have very little commercial business because we wanted to limit things.
