In-fill development only benefits the developers. It ruins the character of a neighborhood and damages property values by destroying trees and concentrating the number of people in the area. I have seen this happen in Miami's Coconut Grove area over the last couple of decades, and I was shocked to find it unrecognizable on my last visit.

This proposal to continue carpet-bombing Yorkshire with McMansions needs to be stopped. If the City approves this project, one more step toward the irrecoverable loss of Yorkshire's beauty can be laid at the doorstep of an out-of-touch City government-mayor, city council, and office of planning and development.

I have been restoring old homes in Memphis for 33 years.
Theses homes are about the same age now as the midtown homes I started on back then.
This neighborhood is approaching historic status.
Please allow it to be preserved as it is.

We chose to live in this neighborhood because of its character: the unique design of each home, the large tree canopy, the azaleas--these help define our neighborhood's character. The recent infill efforts destroy the very reasons we love living here. Why can't the Office of Planning and Development understand: we don't want any zoning changes!

I will never understand anyone who wants to plow down perfectly fine homes, trees and landscape to build multiple properties in the place of where one stood (in the blazing sun)...the reason I don't understand it is b/c the people who DO want to do it, are all about lining their pockets....GREED is a shameful thing.

Few neighborhoods have the distinctive charm of the area where this development is proposed. Infill may be desirable in some neighborhoods, but not in Yorkshire! Preserving the beauty and character of Yorkshire would benefit many far East Memphis neighborhoods, including Balmoral, where I live.

Stop tearing down beautiful trees and nice looking homes. Redevelop older buildings in downtown and create more urban villages like Crosstown has done for midtown.

This ain’t Collarville. I say we knock down all the houses that ain’t Mid center modern and plant trees instead of people like The Founding Fathers intended.

Memphis needs to create planning and development requirements for ALL neighborhoods in Memphis. We want our city to grow, but we want the end result to be something desirable to the city's residents - not just profitable for the city's investors. Say NO.

This issue affects ALL the Yorkshire neighborhood, not just Hayne, Edenshire Cove and Dee Cove. We're all in this together to protect our neighborhood. I strongly oppose this infill development at 1119 Hayne.
