We need more farmland. We do not need solar panels. Do not build your solar panels here.

These solar farms are wildly inefficient for the amount of space that they cover. With the harsh weather of the Midwest particularly hail and high winds leave these solar fields particularly vulnerable to repeated damage and diminished efficiency . After living in California for many years, I have seen first hand the ugliness and total lack of efficiency of these fields. By constructing these fields in rural Will County just further diminishes property values and will drive away future home developments. Not a single person will ever want to look out their window and go geez I really wanna look at a 600 acre plus solar farm in their brand new home.. It is already bad enough that we are fighting the Northpoint debacle to keep the trucking terminal from wrecking our cities and now we have to deal with this. As a former California resident, I strongly suggest those opposed to this go and pull the data of the failed solar fields in California to use against this development. If Sunny California cannot generate enough energy through these fields why would mostly cloudy Chicago land area and will County generate enough power through these fields it is a complete waste of money time and resources.

Our residents moved here to get away from the pollution, noise and industrialization of other areas. No one wants to take a drive through cornfield replaced by metal fields!

Stop taking up valuable farm land with these eye sore solar fields

We just moved from IL to GA 2 months ago but were lifelong Illinoisans up until then. We lived in Frankfort, IL for over 30 years. I hope it is still okay for me to sign this petition. So much valuable farmland has already been taken over by developers and to lose even more to solar farms would be a travesty.

I strongly oppose the proposed solar development in our rural farming community. This area is not just open land—it is working farmland that supports livestock, including my horses, and provides the water and soil quality we rely on every day. Placing an industrial-scale solar project so close to active farms raises serious concerns about potential water contamination, drainage changes, and the long-term impact on animal health and agricultural use. Our community depends on clean water, open pasture, and a safe environment for both people and animals, and this type of development threatens those essentials.
