Milwaukee has blessed with many trees, trails, parks, and green spaces. Therefore, it is OUR responsibility to cherish and protect these special places for our citizens and our wildlife!

We need to protect the greenway along the Milwaukee river and not tear it apart with new trails. It needs to remain as natural as possible to keep safe the flora and fauna that live there.

This area should be designated as a nature preserve. It has value separate from human-centric, human bestowed worth. Wildlife and native plants need their space unencroached upon by people. There are plenty of trails in this narrow corridor! Let's maintain what we have.

It seems to me like there would be two sides to this story. I know the parks Department has a very professional team of naturalist and I can't imagine they would intentionally damage a natural area. The trail is very muddy and sometimes unusable. What is the parks plan to improve access to this area?

Pleasant Valley Park (north of Gordon Park), and areas just north, have the densest, most uninterrupted and undeveloped wildlife habitat in the city of Milwaukee along the Milwaukee River. It makes absolutely NO sense to cut a new trail through this area. What is wrong with simply maintaining the current, main trail so as to leave the current wildlife habitat intact? The county should partner with Milwaukee River Advocates to maintain the main trail and keep it in sustainable condition.
