We have had neighbors before with a pot belly pig for a pet and she was a great pet. They choose the pig because she had hair instead of fur and they couldn't have other animals because of allergies. We never had a problem with her.

Pigs are cleaner, smarter, and better all around pets than dogs and cats. Do some research, update your guidelines, and let them keep their babies!!!

If these animals are loved, cared for and they cause no problems, why, why, why would we take a beloved family member from their loving home? There is absolutely no reason to remove these pets from their families, who obviously love and nurture them.
Its sad when we there is little consequences for people who abuse animals but people who absolutley LOVE their pets have their family members torn from them....how can one rationalize this?
Please let families who care for their pets, nurture their pets, love their pets, KEEP their pets! Focus more on the people who are mistreating their pets and REMOVE THEM!!!

The law is outdated and was never intended to apply to pets. A mini pig is cleaner, quieter, and safer than most big dogs. Do the right thing and don't break up this family.

Another outdated, non specific law that incorporates an entire breed of animal that DOES NOT APPLY! Pot Belly pigs are not Farm animals.. These are more domesticated and bonded then the family dog!

If the animals in question are demesticated and are household pets, then they should be treated as such. Potbelly pigs are highly intelligent and are very common pets and this family has the right to own any domesticated pet of their choosing, regardless of any outdated ordinance of the city of Jonesboro. People are allowed to own snakes (which will still swallow a human whole if given the chance) yet this law wants to take away two domesticated pigs from a family that hasn't caused any problems. That's absurd. Proud to sign this petition. Everyone should have the right to own the domesticated pets they desire
