This ordinance is extremely outdated and has no recognizable humanitarian cause. Change it, and recognize the value of relationships of family members of other species.

There's no difference between a dog and a pig. Pigs are even smarter than dogs. What city doesn't allow it's residents to have pets? Let this woman have her pet pigs. She's not hurting anyone.

I have 2 potbellys and live in Hot Springs in the county, but I think they need to rethink this because a pot belly is cleaner than most dogs! If the owner is responsible and takes care of them properly there should be no reason to not allow them! One thing is that they help boost your mood because they are comical to have around especially when they are like babies. I can't say mine is the cleanest because they love to roll in the mud and 2 in the house was crazy so they are in a pen.

I am signing this petition in support of changing the mentioned ordinance. pot bellies, Juliana, and mini pigs are intelligent, loving, and above all CLEAN creatures. They are no more trouble or nuisance to a community than a dog or cat. These pets are also growing in popularity and the city of Jonesboro will continue to face backlash against this ordinance if not amended to reflect common sense regulations on pet pigs versus feeder/breeder commercial hogs.

These small pigs are more intelligent than toddlers and most dogs. They are also sentient, social, and closely bond to their human families. They are also easily trained, and are very clean when given the opportunity.
