I have pot bellied pigs. They are less noisy and messy than my dogs. They live in the house and are part of my family. Ordinances against swine were written long before pot bellied pigs came to the United States to be bred as pets. The code is archaic and needs to be amended.

I think the swine ordinance would apply to raising stinky pigs in the city. These are obviously pets.

My neighbor in town was allowed to have a rooster in their backyard, which woke me up every morning for 3 years, so I guess a potbellied pig as an indoor pet, which will not bother anyone or be s food source. should be allowed as well.

My husband and I also live in Sage Meadows and love seeing Wilbur and Fern outside. Pot belly pigs are domesticated animals and should be exempt from this ordinance.

It seems the last STUPID Ordinance that was passed in Jonesboro was removed by a vote of the citizens. Maybe someone in Jonesboro's Leadership will have enough sense to Nip This in the Bud. Nip It! I had much rather allow a pig in a house, regardless of Potbelly or Regular than someone else's cat in my yard. Mayor step up to the plate on this one! What are they hurting? Why after five years is this now an issue?

As long as they are taken care of and lived Just like any other domestic animal, there is no harm in letting her keep them.
There are lots of domestic animals that live in horrible conditions and are mistreated that need help and new homes. So why not divert attention to them instead of someone that takes care of their pets regardless of what it is.
