They actually listened and Whitmire is keeping his job which I am still trying to wrap my head around because it felt like they were never going to budge. Honestly I am so relieved for everyone involved although we should probably keep an eye on things just to be safe …
On behalf of the students that attend Pittsburg High I believe that our principal had nothing to do with the protest that had gotten out of hand. He was there to protect the students making sure they were safe, and also thad stated a various amount of times warning the students about the consequences on leaving. Again he is put in the wrong he had no control over.
A thousand people actually signed this thing and my brain is honestly just looping on that number right now because it feels like yesterday I was just typing this up in my room hoping my friends would notice. It keeps buzzing on my laptop screen and I keep refreshing it because I really just cannot believe people care this much about what happened.

I have been hearing so many stories from students who felt safe because Whitmire was actually there to look out for them while everything was chaotic. The administration is still acting like nothing is happening but we are definitely not going to just fade away and let them pin this on him when he was the one trying to calm everyone down.

Mr. Whitmire is a great principal who did nothing other than ensure our safety, allow us to express our freedom of speech & to protest, & made sure nobody was rioting. He should not be blamed for the decisions of immature students.

He was there to protect the students telling them not to yell "FDT" but kids will be kids and do so. He brought buses to pick up the kids at some of the schools, but the kids refused. He was there to make sure no one got hit by any cars. Keep him at my school.

As of the past 3 years that I have attended Pitt, Mr.Whitmire has been nothing but supportive and caring toward ALL his students. And I would guarantee that by firing him, nothing good will result in our schools progress.

the principal clearly stated that if the kids at Pittsburg high went out they would be marked as a cut but since some kids denied to listen he did everything he could be had no control over more than 1,000 ignorant kids

I am a parent, my daughter goes to this school, and Mr. Whitmire is a great principal, and don't deserve to get fired, for thinking safety for his students..... I have known Whitmire for atleast 4+ years, my daughter is not my only child that went to Pitt high.

I was at the protest and mr witmire had nun to do with the protest. He did not lead the protest or tell the students to do it. Mr whitmire was simply trying to get the students to go back to phs, but it got out of hand and people are mixing up what happened
