They are beautiful trees not interfering with the children's play ground so I see no reason why they need to be cut down and when they flower they are spectacular.

I think the apple blossom is a huge inspiration to many of us and I've not heard of anyone tripping on an apple. Please don't chop them Dow. They are an asset to the park

I would like to point out that these are not self seeded apple trees but were all planted around 1982, at the same time that Bobbin Lane was built. When a couple of the young trees were damaged they were replaced in order to keep the beauty of the avenue of trees. The loss of 4 of these trees would have a detrimental impact on bio diversity and also on the aesthetics of the park.

In the 80s they were staked so were not self seeded. The blossom is beautiful in the spring and chopping them down is a waste of our Parish funds.

Apple trees provide benefits to prime and wildlife. Apple are not a serious top hazard. In a time of climate and ecological crisis cutting down trees in a park should only be done where public safety is a serious risk. I live in Bradford on Avon where we manage, with the councils support, several orchards safely

No healthy tree in a park or greenspace should ever be chopped down, unless is unsafe or causes a major obstruction. Felling these trees is ridiculous and who ever heard of fallen apples as a trip hazard.

These Trees were deliberately planted and form part of the avenue of trees, their felling is not supported unless they are actually unsafe in which case they must be replaced with the same tree species.

I live in Bradford on Avon. Gathering windfalls from the apple trees in Westwood Park is one of my reasons for spending time in Westwood, where I support several local businesses. I have some fruit at home still. In what universe are apples on a path a serious trip hazard? Parks all over the UK including Royal parks have pine cones laying around too. Self-seeding is part of nature's plan and can produce new tasty varieties. The trees and even rotting fruit support biodiversity. Employing an arborist to prune and manage the trees would set an example to residents, on how to value and care for fruit trees.

These trees are a wonderful aspect of the park and a joy to behold especially in spring. We are already losing trees everywhere else due to building development. In a park they should be protected bearing in mind how much they benefit the local wildlife and add to the aesthetics of the area

I have used the apples on several occasions as eaters and cookers. They are an invaluable resource for birds, insects and other fauna. In winter they are visited by flocks of redwings and fieldfares. A tree should never be felled, but managed into its old age. The recent felling in the Park is an eyesore.

They are so lovely, full of life, giving natural food for our birds and insects. Time for all members of the Parish Council to act on the responsibility they have to promote biodiversity and understand how this action would negate that responsibility.

These trees are an asset to the community and bring happiness to many children and other residents of Westwood as well as providing important habitat and food for local birds and insects. Chopping down mature trees would be an act of unwarranted ecological vandalism as well as a waste of the parish council's money.
