As an old boy of waverley and whose children attended waterford I'm very disappointed by this decision. Other private schools like Cranbrook run preschools and it is a good way to connect with the local community. Very disappointing.

Waterford preschool has a long history of providing very high quality education and care for all children & importantly those with additional needs. It's history as a demonstration preschool, has influenced so many early childhood teachers, including myself. It would be such a shame to lose this wonderful institution.

My three children attended. We must provide children with beautiful outdoor - indoor spaces that connects them to nature. Waterford provides a well rounded and holistic learning environment for children.

As a former teacher trained in teaching children with special needs I have seen the direct impact a facility such as Waterford has on the lives of children who need added support to reach their full potential. Every child in Australia has a right to expect this outcome from the education system in this wealthy country. The earlier the targeted education commences the greater the impact on each child. The Bronte/Waverley Community is an established area and young families have always been part of the residents. These young families need Preschools and the presence of high profile schools in the area supports the existing standard of education. Working parents need quality pre-schools to continue their careers. Waverley College with its Catholic education values has been an icon in the Waverley area and at this time are asked to re-consider their decision.

Shocked by this news! Waterford Preschool has provided, and continues to provide the highest standard of care and education to many pre-schoolers in our community. One of those ‘rare gems’ in an early learning industry flooded with ‘for profit’ corporate providers. 2020 has thrown a lot at our community, but Waverley College deciding to close Waterford at such short notice - with seemingly total disregard to the staff and current/future families of this wonderful institution - was not something we were expecting. My family has already had the good fortune of sending our child to Waterford, so I sign this petition on behalf of all the current families, the future families, and the dedicated educators. If Waverley College stands for educational excellence and maintaining a harmonious relationship with the wider community it need to reverse this decision.

I have been observing and admiring the work of Waterford Preschool for many years. My granddaughter was to commence in 2021. My extreme disappointment at the closure of the preschool, which is unique in the local community cannot be expressed strongly enough. I am wriiting in the hope that Waverley College will reconsider its decision.
