The Florida DEP is not policing a huge permit given to the St Johns River Water Management District to "restore" sensitive wetlands. They are allowing neglectful operations that are not allowable under the "General Permit". Over 600 acres of sensitive mangrove wetlands have been plowed under not only leaving the remaining mangroves to face the burden of cleansing the water but placing the additional burden of rotting vegetation on the estuary. Please join us by electronically signing this petition. Stand up and object before our Mosquito Lagoon is destroyed any further. Updates

July 1, 2015

The momentum surrounding our fight to protect the Mosquito Lagoon has reached a significant level. It is clear that the public recognizes the severity of the destruction occurring within these wetlands.

Used to fish here all the time and now its just an absolute wasteland. How do you call this restoration? Its a total joke and they are just killing everything.

I believe these people are incompetent. They are hell bent on destroying our ecosystem and need to be stopped. Our waters were once referred to as prestine, and that was before their project began. The proof is right in front of our faces.

Wrong to destroy endangered plants that are native to Florida.
