Hello,My name is Juan Carlos,I am a 6th Grader from the American Nicaraguan School in Managua.I will talk about the 7 year Drought that is going on in the State of California,better known as the Golden State.According to the Washington Post,During the 7 year Drought,California has lost 63 trillion gallons of Water.I,personally have witnessed that drought.Three years ago when I visited California,Everything was green and Beautiful.The Grape Fields looked like endless rows of Purple Sweetness.The Breadbasket of the World was looking like the most Complete place in North America with Snowboarding,

Skateboarding,Surfing,Good Eating,Great Views,Famous Places.Everything available for the people,except Water.It has low water percentage,so it’s not so perfect anymore.We need to Save Water.

Let’s take Lake Folsom as a Example to explain and show the decline the water percentage.Lake Folsom is located just outside of Sacramento,the Capital of State.The State needs this.More Specific,the Country needs this.Here is one reason,most of the states street water,faucet water,most of the sweetwater of the State comes from that water.According to The Sacramento Bee,the lake has dropped from 700 feet of water to 450 feet of water.Lake Folsom loses about 10.5 gallons per day.It is projected that by the end of the year,Lake Folsom will drop to 100 feet of water.Now,we don’t was this to happen because Califonia will lose all of it’s beauty.Now that’s the worry for the Californians.The worry for the world is that California feeds the World.It gives us Grapes,Wine,World Class Strawberries,Tangerines,Raisins,Lettuce,Celery,etc.As I said before,it is called the Breadbasket of the world.It also contains a large percentage of Oil Production.It’s also the most populated state in the US.These are also a Bunch of Words on a paper to just get a good grade,but even though that I’ve never lived in California,just visited,it’s like a Home to me.California is like a Perfect State,but it doesn’t have Water.So,if you sign my Petition I will feel blessed if you save my Favorite State in the United States of America.Some of Us might think I don’t live in California why do I worry about California,Well we are together as one,as one world.
