Please keep this Essential facility open and don't rob the local kids of their pool.

The Sydney region, especially in the Northern Beaches area is in desperate need of another state of the art aquatic centre and in any plan to move or redevelop Warringah Aquatic Centre the inclusion of a full complement of aquatic facilities to FINA standard is paramount. I would encourage council to be forward thinking by including all aquatic sports including swimming, water polo, synchronised swimming and diving in any redevelopment. With the growth of the Northern Beaches area and the need for more organised and diverse organised sports this is a great opportunity for Council to create a great legacy for the community.

Not enough swim facilities on the beaches as it is. Closing this facility will mean even less. Not acceptable.

I have been using the pool for 20 years, 5 days a week ... had I not done so, I would now be dead. For me, closing the pool will be a death sentence. Regards, Graham Millar. 02 9975 4240

Where would people go if it shuts? Northern beaches need multiple pools!

Yet another set of diving boards the government is wanting to get rid of soon there will be none left. Please ensure the sport has room to grow champions and simply to enjoy for those who enjoy the sport of diving.

We got a stadium when the area was crying out for a pool for years. Listen to your rate payers, you are there to serve the people not jobs for the boys.

The closure of the Aquatic Centre would be a huge loss to everyone who uses it, and would have a significant effect on the level of opportunities and development of talent in the area, on families and private users who want to swim for leisure or fitness, and for schools and other groups who regularly use the facility for training and competitions, who would be left having to travel large distances to access alternative facilities of this kind (of which there are none in the Northern Beaches area). The pool has also been responsible for developing past, present and future regional, national, international and Olympic champions, and continues to do so. Not to mention the all important need for people to be able to learn to be safe in and around water, given the recent press coverage both locally and nationally concerning accidents and drownings in the ocean, rivers, lakes and private yards around the northern beaches.

For gods sakes, please stop taking from the public. Where do the school kids swim, the elderly, the rehabilitating, the families? This absurd government & councils are going too far.

The cost of maintaining a community swim centre is much less than the cost of maintaining a community of overweight, unhealthy people

I'm from Baulkham Hills and I'm a 10-15min drive from the 10lane 50m war memorial pool in parramatta. The NSW government has decided to demolish it to make way for a new Parramatta Stadium (the stadium is only 30years old, hardly very old!) whilst the government says they are "considering" new sites for a new aquatic centre. I feel for your community as I feel for the parramatta community. There is nothing wrong with progress and development as long as the MPs that we voted to represent us stand up to the "planning department" of the State Government and insist that the community's pool isn't demolished until a new one is built. Or......grow some imagination and make the new developments fit without demolishing the school and pool. Check out Europe, they plan great cities, great places for people without tearing down every piece of public infrastructure that's more than 50years old.

Stop taking our community assets! These have been paid for by rate payers for community use not to be used as a land bank to assist developers to make money

This is a family centre, a fitness centre, an Olympic centre, a school, a school sports centre, a disability centre, a place of equal rights. Why would you want to shut something that ticks all the boxes??

Keep Warringsh Aquatic Centre open, gross waste of money to pull down. Build new school around it there is enough land without destroying the Aquatic Centre.

I use the pool two to three times a week for fitness and Aqua aerobic classes. I have been coming to the pool for approx 30 years. I am 66 years old. Please do not destroy our local pool, The people of The Forest have given up enough for the hospital.

This is such an important sporting centre for the northern beaches. My school swimming carnivals and water polo games were held here and it would be such a shame if the growing population of the northern beaches were not able to use it. Manly swim centre is not enough for the beaches!!!
