There are several other options in the neighborhood for a HS practice field. Keep our little playfield natural and free for use anytime by ALL RESIDENTS of Wallingford!

Please keep Wallingford Playfield a grass, mature tree lined space for all. Sports are great, but the proposed plan will limit access to the park/field for the entire community.

I feel strongly that the park should be left alone. The playground and wading pools are used by many in the community. Many families in the area use the soft green grass to play with their kids or their dogs. There are turf fields just 5 mins at Woodlawn Park, why do we need more? And why is SPS going to fund construction for uneccessary turf when they have to close down schools?

There is already multiple turf fields at Woodland Park that are used by Lincoln High School students. This would get rid of a nice park in the neighborhood and would introduce a lot of unnecessary microplastics into the area.

I live half a block from the Wallingford park and have not only enjoyed it myself over the years, but also observed how many individuals, groups and families use it. The park should be for the enjoyment of the entire neighborhood, not just the narrow interests of the high school football team.

Feel very strongly that this proposal to repurpose Wallingford Park is an appalling idea. Reduces the Park user base to two schools and ignores the vast majority of local people who currently enjoy the space for so many different purposes across ALL age groups young and old.

Lincoln high-school promised they would not do this. Clearly they lied through their teeth and have ZERO integrity.
Hundreds of neighbors use this park every day. Don't let spoiled high-school football kids take away such a valuable neighbor resource!!

The park should be for all of us. There should be grass there, and trees. A non-ecological space such as a parking lot should be found for the playing field.

The park has been around for a long time should be for use by the whole Wallingford community. It’s unfair to have it be flattened and made into an athletic field specifically for Lincoln High school.

Our young kids play in this playground almost everyday. Please keep the playground and wading pool open to young children. There are no other public play spaces nearby.

This park is an important part of our community, one that was essential outdoor space as we were raising our children. Without it, the neighborhood lacks what it needs for young families.

I use this park often with my kids. This project is just plainly stupid, I am not against the turf part of the field but removing the access to kids to the park and killing the trees is just insane. If you want to invest into play area, you can at least make the restroom safe from drug addicts and level the field so it doesn’t become the mush. It doesn’t make sense to just go and destroy the whole park, spend millions of dollars to make it usable, it will be usable with small changes.

Please do not take the trees out even if you put in turf, they are a key part of the space and important for kids to have nature.

Leave the park. Use area already hard surface as remodeled playfield.
