My wife Elvia and her sisters attended Visitation. They are beautiful people of faith who truly care for and love all those around them. They tell wonderful stories of attending school and church there between those walls. I always wanted to walk those grounds. Losing such an institution that produces such great human beings would be a crime.

This is a beautiful piece of property that is tranquil and meditative. It should be upgraded and continued to be a school and house of worship for the catholic faith. I pray that this is resolved quickly and that it may continue to be a symbol of the Catholic faith.

Save this beautiful school and historic landmark. NYC neighborhoods are being destroyed by overpopulation. Don’t let this become more housing. More housing means more people, not more affordability for those already here, although that’s what everyone would like to believe. Save this school, and save Bay Ridge—one of the last few NYC neighborhoods which is still beautiful and pleasant to live in.

“Young women who want an education will not be stopped.” – Freida Pinto
Visitation is a school that provides education to young ladies and future leaders. The small classes and curriculum are what make this school unique from other schools especially ones that are overpopulated.
Taking this educational right away from the girls and forcing them to make fast arrangements to accommodate this premeditated and abrupt change is detrimental to their education and the relationships they have built with their fellow students and teachers. Children need routine and stability and that stable ground has been stripped from these young, beautiful, impressionable girls.
As an alumna and advocate for women’s education, this is devastating to hear a place I once called my educational home for 10 years will be no longer.
Why were the alumna not contacted to assist in helping the school become independent of the very sisters that were supposed to be supporting the girls but who are also now displacing them? There are so many questions and unknowns.
It is imperative to preserve this unique educational institution that has provided a foundation to so many women over the years.
My thoughts are with all those young ladies, their families and the faculty affected by this decision.
