This is an open letter to the gaming community and video game companies alike, and will be forwarded to all major gaming companies, and media outlets to get Darksiders back on the table. Vigil Games, best known for their most recent entries, with their game series "Darksiders", has been one of a few companies to develop a successful NEW IP in this current generation of gaming. Taking their hues from the previous generation of games, Vigil Games shaped and molded "The Darksiders" franchise into a game that is not only expansive, but possesses the qualities of "The Legacy of Kain" series with it's in depth story telling. With most other companies pumping out sequels after sequels that are basically the same game with a different overlay, The Darksiders franchise is one of the few that actually broke out of the mold and didn't even carbon copy itself. Now THQ has filed for Chapter 11 and most of it's assets are up for sale. While many other games/internal companies have been picked up, "The Darksider's" developer hasn't and neither has the license for the rights to the game. This is a travesty to gaming as a whole with Darksiders 2 being only the second entry into the series. What could have evolved is going to die out, and we need to preserve it. Gone already are some big gems of our time, "The Legacy of Kain Series", a game much like Darksiders 2 was never concluded after Amy Henning left Crystal Dynamics for Naughty Dog. This great series shouldn't suffer the same fate, and we should see all four chapters of the game. I urge you, please sign this petition and ask for the right to be able to finish the series. If not, we will always be left to wonder, "What if?". If we let this gem die now a little piece of our gaming history will die with it. -The Undersigned.
