I'm a retired 32 year former employee of Vidant .I was a charter member of fitness center. It was vital to my struggles with pre diabetes. My sister passed away at 58 from heart disease brought on by diabetes. I continue to use exercise and diet to manage my health; habits I learned early on from my membership at Vidant Wellness center and the programs offered. Would still be a member if I hadn't moved away.

If the hospital cannot re-open the center I hope they will provide an opportunity for another company to come in and provide this much needed service for our community.

Closing the wellness center demonstrates your lack of commitment to prevention and healthy living. This is not just a gym, it’s evidence that your commitment to health is not just empty words in a mission statement. Core values should be sustained in hard economic times.
