I recently visited Chatham in order to walk the lovely treed Victoria Avenue. It’s exceptional with the grand Carolinian trees, old homes and churches. This avenue is unique and should be preserved for itself and for the intense importance of the trees.

Pls do not cut the trees . Being an immigrant , I have seen the pain point of cutting down such mature trees . We will leave behind a nothing for our next generation . It’s never worth any progress at the cost of nature . My request here is to Hire best engineers in Canada and come up with best plan.

I think the arborist report should be followed to keep trees healthy. I believe changes to the street should keep the trees front and centre. Creative planning could keep everyone happy.

Victoria Ave is one of the few old beautiful treed streets left in Chatham so please let’s keep it that way. Please leave it alone and deal with more important issues at hand. Enough money has been wasted on this ridiculous plan and as far as bike lanes go why don’t you finish what you have already started on Grande River Line.

They need to leave the nature and beauty of Victoria Ave alone. I love riding my Ebike down there just because of the amazing trees

Please preserve Victoria Ave with minor upgrades such as curbs. No bike lanes, no roundabout. Thank you.

I lived in Chatham for a quarter of my life, both my daughters where born in that city. My father Bob Flynn was known in that city and was a member of the Kent Regiment during WWII. What I have heard what they want to do with Victoria Ave in my books is criminal. Always tearing down history only for it to turn up empty.
