As an alumni I am very disappointed that the university is cutting this very successful and inexpensive sport. It seems like a publicity stunt to emphasize the cuts the governor has made to the university. It is very disappointing that university leadership would Cut of these successful inexpensive sports to get attention. B

The President of UWO really needs to re-evaluate this position on eliminating men's soccer in 2016. The local area (all the cities around Lake Winnebago) have supported and financially benefited by the US Youth Soccer Region II tournament in the past (2011 Region II Championships June 25-29, 2011; Appleton, Wisconsin) and again this summer, 2015 Region II Championships June 20-24, 2015; Fox Cities, Wisconsin. Youth soccer players ages U13-U19 represent 13 states that stay for a minimum of 4 days (3 nights) to hopefully win their age group and move on to Nationals. If teams win their group play they could stay an extra 2 days. During this event, millions of outside dollars are infused into the local area through hotel, restaurant, gas and everyday purchases. These cites and local businesses have financially gain from this huge soccer event. I would hope that someone could relay this information to the governor, president and local Chamber of Commerce in this lake area community. Save UWO men's soccer! Chad Flanders

As a high school soccer coach, I found the UWO Soccer program to be extremely valuable. Their camps, clinics and games have been instructional and inspirational to many youth soccer players in the valley. As a parent of a former UWO Soccer Titan, I am extremely displeased at your decison to drop such a winning program.
