It is disgusting and disturbing to see a place of "education" make such a numb-minded decision when it comes to history. Truly a sad idea brewed up by narrow minds.

I'm an architectural historian. UConn is my alma mater, and several years ago I worked on an adaptive reuse plan for these buildings. They are historic and worthy of preservation.

These are beautiful, historic buildings that should not be torn down. They add a lot of character to the campus and should be restored, not destroyed. The campus still has plenty of open space. I'm sure there are other ways to create open space besides ruining historic buildings. This decision ruins the spirt of the campus. Please reconsider!

remember what happened in new haven redevelopment. once the rural quiet corner is gone why should a student pick another fast track development?

Those buildings should remain apart of UConn's campus. Renovate and restore the buildings. They not only add character but they are a part of UConn history!

If so much money can be put into new housing, etc, why can't some be put into restoring these old homes?! Come on, folks!

I'm more than happy to sign this, because I think these houses are quite lovely to look at. Sure, they need maintenance and TLC, but that's no reason to go tearing down some of the few character buildings in Uconn.

That these buildings are on the National Register of Historic Places makes the possibility of their demolition very distressing. Surely there is still room on campus for memory as well as vision!

This part of campus should be saved. It links the old with the new and breaks up the architectural texture of the campus.
