For me, "Faculty Row" has been a fond memory of time spent walking by them daily as a young mom. I drive by on an occasion to see this familiar sight. A period of time that needs to be part of the history of UCONN.

I lived in 2 of these homes as a child. It would be sad to have all of them demolished. They had a long and important place in the history of UCONN. I hope that UCONN will not just become a place of tall brick buildings.

We lived at 13 Gilbert Rd. It was terrific & needs to stay. Why does UConn have the right to destroy historic buildings, e.g. the original nursing bdg.?

It is an insult the level of disrespect UCONN shows for significant historical buildings such as the Faculty Row houses. Most municipalities changed their attitudes towards conservation of historic structures after the damage done from redevelopment in the 1960's and 70's. Concerned Farmington citizens recently formed the group Preservation Now to save a 18th century home from demolition. I hope this initiative has the same success.

Please keep these houses. It add so much beauty to the campus. My dad lived in one of these after ww2 I always liked looking at them and thinking about Uconn at that time

When the fraternities and sororities occupied the buildings it was a great social hub. The organizations put a lot into the upkeep of the buildings as well.

I grew up in Storrs, and knew families who lived in some of these historic homes - please preserve them!

Please save Faculty row. It is the best area of campus that has the beautiful old school college feel rather than the industrial park look. I'm sure the buildings can be kept for new uses.

Don't destroy the old out of ignorance of how they contribute to the charm and the history of the Storrs campus!

Classic architectural style! Love these buildings. Losing lovely memories of early campus history if they're demolished. Shouldn't be sacrificed for the sake of a new Park!

How is it that UConn can demolish buildings that are on the Historic Register?

This represents an appalling misuse of power and shows a disturbing indifference to the importance of preserving historically significant properties. Shameful!

UConn please remember you are in Storrs because of the generosity of 2 brothers from Mansfield. The history of the area is important to preserve. UConn needs to stop destroying the area, historical treasures, and it's resources. You have taken enough, now start giving something back.
