This greatly saddens me, I used to live in Storrs and to sell "our" history is incomprehensible to me. Maybe we need to make these home Historic Landmarks, this would certainly put an end to anyone being able to demolish them!

These buildings are more than a quaint architectural alternative to campus, they are the HISTORY and a visual reminder of earlier UConn and Storrs. At a time wnen the Uconn administrators are building new megalopolous complexes, it is equally important to renovate the treasured historic samples of the earlier life of the campus and the community. Perhaps they could be turned into museums to show the future students how far the College has come. Leave these beloved buildings standing!

Why is history always demolished! These are beautiful old homes,lots of history,doesn't that have a meaning too! Recognize this! There must be a repurpose for them!

Why must history be torn down under the guise of progress? We need to honor the past, not remove it.

Is it really necessary to continue to make this campus and education less and less tangible? While some consider the changes progress, it seems to me that there is a deeper investigation worthy of our upper administration to pursue. Thanks for this petition.

This would be an abomination to take down those beautiful building. 'New' isn't always better. It kills me to see all the buildings on the Depot Campus just rotting away, too.

I think one of these houses was the Home Management House for practicums for the Home Economics students.

I had worked on UConn campus for ten years: that's twice as long as anyone in the high-echelons of the administration supporting their removal. Furthermore, as a tax-paying resident of Storrs and the state of Connecticut whose tax dollars would be spent on this project, I am furious that this is yet another construction project that would have money spent on it when IT experts and adjunct professors are let go, laid off and otherwise refused full-time benefits or standards.
