As an individual that has benefitted not only from ride services, but also employment opportunities, it is baffling that something so wonderful, loving, community-building, safe, affordable and smart is facing so much harsh criticism and pushback. These types of services only prove themselves useful and prosperous to the communities they are involved in. Change is so difficult for people and it is really sad that so many are against new ways of thinking, speaking and interacting with the world.

Ridesharing services have provided many positives to this city and it is something that consumers want and demand. They have reduced drunken driving incidents, they spur economic development, they make the city attractive to tourists and business travelers, they are supremely more reliable and cost effective, and we need them here.

Uber has been convenient, efficient, and the drivers have been very friendly and cautious. We have not used Lyft, but I'm sure the above applies to them as well. Do what's right and keep both companies operating as the great ride-sharing service providers that they are!

As an EPC commissioner I implore you to reconsider the heavy regulations that have resulted in the flight of one ridesharing company and may result in the flight of another.
MIT researchers have found that services like Uber, Pool and Lyft Line not only save money for riders, but also reduce pollution, road congestion, and travel time by significant amounts. (http://www.pnas.org/content/111/37/13290.abstract)
Albuquerque has in it's past made some very poor decisions when it came to adopting and welcoming new disruptive technology and services (see Microsoft). I fear that over regulation of something as simple as a ride sharing service, that has been adopted in some of the most tech savvy communities in the country, only highlights this shortcoming and shortsightedness in our vision for the future of the City. If we want to be competitive in attracting new business, technology, and people with ideas, we need to show that we are not a city resistive to the changes that come with such advancements.
Please revisit and revise the regulations so that the city can begin to take the positive steps we need to continue to attract the best and the brightest throughout the world.
