Proposals have been approved and Two Locks Nursery is due to shut at the end of this school year maybe as early as Easter if there are no objections. Yes we as a country need to make cut backs but is depriving our children from the best start in education really the way forward. Two Locks has already recieved 70 applications for next September but now those children will be expected to attent Nant Celyn Nursery leaving at least 18 children without a place and no space for a January or Easter intake.Two Locks has 3 well sized rooms and a well equiped large outdoor area promoting childrens indepence wheras in the ICC where Nant Celyn Nursery will be based there is only room for 26 children per session as there is only 1 room, this number would also include any children with additional needs who may need 1-1 support. The outdoor area is also far less stimulating for the children. There is a nursery in the Pontypool area that holds the same amount of children as Two Locks and at the end of last year only had about 30 children there and that is to remain open for now so where is the sense in that. Please sign the petition and lets see if we can make a differece and even if we can't at least we can say we tried and when the local authorties see that they have got it all wrong in the future at least we will be able to say we tried to tell you.
