My 2 grandchildren now love watching the old Polka Dot Door shows featuring their "Nana" that my Mom preserved on VHS. And I love watching the shows with them. It's so much fun to see them engage in the friendly, calming and thoughtful educational approach that is manifest in the content. My dear old ( almost 35 years) Marigold doll has become my 6 year old grand-daughter's most prized possession. She has permanent sleep over privleges in my grand-daughter Lily's bedroom. Her attachment reflects the impact of PDD's influence on her imagination and her sense of comfort with it. Of course it is important to preserve the content of TVO's archive! It reflects the history of it's remarkable value in Ontario's growth as an informed collective of citizens who are eager to know what makes them tick. Let's not have those moments fade to black .TVO is my default for intelligent programming that respects viewers needs for informed thought no matter the age of the viewer. Maintain the past to enrich the present and build the future. It's a very good investment. Thanks for the soapbox opportunity! Happy to join the campaign. Carolann: Polka Dot Door 1977 -86

It's important to archive the wonderful history of shows that TVO created over the past years - I had the privilege of working on Polka Dot Door that continues to stand the test of time - it's an outstanding kids program and should not be lost.

Not only did I spend my entire career doing series for TVO, my parents also did a number of shows there when it was called ETV/OECA .I'm proud of my work on TOday's Special, Polka Dot Door, BookMice and many more shows..

This is our history and it needs to be honoured by proper archives for the sake of what we have accomplished and in the interest of future generations.
