Realistically: keeping the dogpark as a place to run will help the dogs be quieter!

I agree, if you don’t like the noise of dogs barking, why did you choose to move in to an apartment next to a dog park? Let dogs be dogs please. Very valid points in this petition

This is one of the few dog parks in Cambridge. It is surrounded mostly by businesses. There is one luxury apartment building right next to the park. Those who bought or rented apartments in this building knew there was a dog park right outside their window before moving in. And guess what? Dogs bark in dog parks. Surprise, surprise. If this was going to be a problem for them, they should not have moved in and should consider moving out. The world doesn't revolve around them. The city should disregard the request to clamp down on the park and protect Tudor Street Dog Park for years to come.

Please do not take away this important place for dogs and their humans to meet. Especially during the pandemic when we need our dogs so much.

This is important to keep in Cambridge! There aren't enough dog parks as it is.

I work next to the dog park and I know my coworkers and I have no issues with the sound that comes from it. We love having it as our neighbor.

There are so few, entirely closed by gates, dog parks in Cambridge. Dogs bark, babies cry. Please let it be.

This is one of the better enclosed dog parks in Cambridge and the only one in the Cambridgeport area. It would be a shame to punish those who use the park legitimately.

My dog gets so much joy from this park every day! This park is well utilized (effective use of space), enclosed (safe), and distanced from buildings on most sides (already buffered). I absolutely understand the frustration of loud noises but unfortunately the option of “no barking” or “no dog park” is just unreasonable. Dog ownership is at an all-time high and safe spaces for their enjoyment is pertinent. I would strongly encourage the city to consider the implications of restricting dog park use.

I wonder if the issue is that people who are now forced to work from home require a quiet environment. If so, their needs have to be balanced with the needs of others in the community. Dogs have been keeping many of us sane during the pandemic, and they require exercise. If the Park is closed, the dogs will be forced to exercise somewhere unsanctioned, possibly leading to safety issues. Perhaps there could be a compromise for the duration of the pandemic only, that would balance opposing needs. A "no bark" period from 2 - 4 pm on weekdays? Limit on the number of dogs allowed at one time? We are all under stress right now. Kindness and understanding can go a long way.

AND the park was renovated. Space was taken away from the park to add a buffer. Soooo, already the city has spent money, and citizen have been inconvenience to appease.

This is one of the only dog parks in walking distance and is a safe, fun, place for our dogs to play. Moving next to a dog park should have some expectations, one of which is noise, don’t penalize our four legged friends!

There are lots of places to live that aren't near a dog park, but so few places where dogs can safely play in the city! This is also a great place for people in the neighborhood to connect and get to know each other, it would be such a shame to lose it!

The dog park is an asset to the whole neighborhood. Even for those like me who don't own dogs, it's lovely to watch animals at play and other humans cheerfully interacting.
Let's try, in this hard time, to give each other (and these other creatures!) a little space, tolerance and understanding.
