Tigers are an icon of beauty, resilience and strength. They are not only our national animal but also an integral part of our ecosystem. Today there are an estimated 2967 tigers in the wild. It's a very low number when compared to the approximately 40,000 tiger population in the 1800s. Illegal hunting, dwindling food supplies, and habitat destruction are all contributing to the demise of tigers across the country. Every year, approximately 98 tigers die, and at this rate, they will become extinct in the near future. The time has come to take action and preserve the tiger. The following are some of the most important strategies that can be implemented.

  • Reduce the conflict between humans and tigers.
  • Conduct tiger research to aid in the development of conservation initiatives and encourage policies that are tiger-friendly.
  • Spread the word: Inform others that the tiger and its habitat are endangered and require our assistance.
  • Be a concerned tourist—the wilderness is meant to be enjoyed, not disrupted or polluted.
  • Say "No!" to the tiger trade by refusing to buy tiger parts or food made from tiger derivatives.

It's high time to prevent India from becoming the first country to lose its national animal. It is our job and obligation to safeguard these magnificent creatures
