Please stop this high density development in the middle of a residential area. Additionally the impact on traffic will be severe in an area that is already connected. Focus instead of revitalizing existing vacant store fronts in downtown concord and west concord.

This development idea is not a good fit for the proposed area. There is already significant traffic on the roads in Concord. How will that area be able to manage more? This will change the whole feel of the town. Why do we want to create a small city in Concord Center?

Developers and planning committees frequently make decisions against the residents wishes. Let that not happen here. Make a better concord with decent urban planning. This proposed plan is not that.

How much of this will be for affordable housing- which is the only good reason for any expansion? The Long Range Plan idea was to build near village centers in order to provide affordable easy access housing for workers and elderly and young families. Is this what we are planning here? BTW the Long Range Plan process was based on primary and private input from select developers, via an expensive consultant hired with public funds. The reason was "developers would not talk in public," and the practice was labeled "authentic participation." The inclusion of modest measures of natural and neighborhood preservation were the result of efforts of a few citizen activists. A citizen letter of criticism is included in the Appendix of the Long Range Plan and explains this and more.

This is excessive, lacks town input without thought on other town impacts like schools. I see another over ride and expansion for Alcott coming ! Where is the planning?

As those who will sign this petition understand, Concord is an extraordinarily historic town. While we can't, and shouldn't, stop responsible, appropriate changes and limited development, we also can't allow decisions to be made that will irrevocably ruin Concord's fragile character.

This proposal smacks in the face the historical heritage of Concord. Not all growth is good for family Living. Concord is a unique residential community that has avoided building on every available piece of land like the State of Florida which is controlled by developers. The major problem with Concord is lack affordable housing for the teachers, fireman, policeman and maintenance people who keep our town in beautiful condition. Do not approve this zoning change. Progress is realized when quality of life is preserved. "respect our past, protect our present, and envision a future that preserves our history"

This project will effect the entire "town" of Concord. The scale and building height of this project is for a city not a historic small town.

The Thoreau Depot plan is flawed and rushed. The history of urban planning is littered with mistakes, and this consultant’s agenda/plan is not congruent with Concord – we already have a vibrant community.
The fact that the affected area is literally a “stones throw” from the historic district highlights the conflict.

The proposed zoning will encourage density at a scale that will completely overwhelm this neighborhood and result in unbearable congestion. Cmon people, think!

The “proposed” development will NOT help the people who live in this town or commute through this town. I also disagree with the belief that increasing business options in Concord will help our town & therefore the state of Massachusetts. By increasing “more business options” in Concord will increase the volume of traffic in town for many reasons: 1) people from other towns needing to drive into Concord for potential purchasing opportunities; 2) that of course increases the volume of traffic in Concord neighborhoods which adds our need to figure out the way to manage our time for potential business commutes or to meet with groups of people that currently work with group/department employees or groups of people that have retired from a company and they still get together to see how their teammates are doing and adjusting to living while retired. We know their are other options that will impact traffic and parking in town. That could also impact retired folks who grew up in Concord and now may need to find a retirement town that will NOT provide the insights that Concord has provided throughout their lives.
