The Zephyr is returning to the tracks because we refused to accept its permanent closure. Thank you for signing and staying loud until the Parks Department finally relented. Keep an eye on the project schedule as they announce the reopening date next month.

The Zilker Zephyr Minituare Train has been an tradition for many Austinites through the years. Unfortunately due to funding, contract complications, etc, our childhood adventure may become only a memory if we don't work together! Let's show Texas what Austinites are made out of! Let's show Austin Parks & Recreation that they can't support Austin City Limits and not help fund this Austin Landmark!

The momentum behind this campaign proves that Austin still cares about our local landmarks. Now we need to turn this energy into action by sending an email to your City Council representative demanding they prioritize the train. Post this link on your Facebook page right now to keep the pressure on.

Why can't the park department fix the erosion problem caused by flooding in the park? The operating company wasn't having problems running the train until flooding from other areas of the park washed out the tracks. Seems like that's a city of Austin issue and not the operating company's issue.

Please don’t take away this iconic Austin landmark! I have fond memories of riding the Zephyr with my daughter. She had her first birthday at Zilker Park and the entire party rode the train - that was her first of many fun filled rides!

My son had his 2nd birthday here at the Zephr and we used to go frequently. We have been waiting for it to get repaired. I can’t bear to tell him it’s going—too many memories.

The Zilker Zephyr is just one of the many Austin treasures that makes Austin unique and wonderful! It creates special times with people of all ages! I took my kids to ride it, and now my grandkids. It breaks our hearts to think it will close down! Please bring back the train!!

The Zilker Zephyr is a wonderful part of what makes Austin special. This has provided countless memories to locals and visitors throughout the years, and would be a reall loss if no longer available. Please keep this Austin treasure running.

The City should give the operators whatever deal they want; they've been running it for 22 years and doing a fine job so far as I can tell. What a shame to stonewall them and make them shut down. Wonder if some pal of the Mayor or City Council Member or Parks Director is looking at putting in a nicely padded bid to run it?

The current condition of erosion problems have created a health and safety condition. The city is ignoring an identified problem. There are codified regulations for erosion control. I’m addition, there are codified rules in place to ensure competitive bids.

This situation is ridiculous! Will City officials see this?
