Visiting this shop when I was in Copenhagen was a great thrill for me. I think future artists should have such a tangible link to their past, and those that came before them.

The owner of the building, and perhaps even the city government of Copenhagen might not realize how important of a cultural sight this is! Artists from all over the world that visit Denmark make it a point to visit Nyhavn 17 because of its historical significance. When we visit Nyhavn, we dine in the restaurants, shop in the shops, and support the economy, and many tattoo artists that I know have visited Copenhagen exclusively to visit the tattoo shop on Nyhavn. Beyond that, it is a cultural icon that deserves to be maintained. Nyhavn was really one of the starting points of modern tattooing, and the art form has branched out across the globe from your beautiful little harbor to affect the broader culture of the world in a major way. Restaurants come and go, and we all know there are plenty of restaurants on the street there in Nyhavn already! I urge you to consider the cultural significance of the tattoo shop and do everything in your power to preserve this cultural mecca.
