If this is indeed the world's oldest tattoo shop, then that in and of itself should retain it's iconic importance. Hell, make it a museum of tattoo culture from the time of it's inception up to the time it closed. Tattoo shop are a cultural hub of society, from the downtrodden to the adventurous aristocrat hiding one under their clothes. Many folks have gotten tattooed, and continue to up to today. For these reasons and more, this shop should be preserved.
