I visit Copenhagen every year and what I love most is the historical buildings! Please don't allow this amazing tattoo shop to be closed! Don't allow art to be thrown away for a kitchen!

This shouldn't even be a discusion. It's simply a piece of history. Not just a national, but international one that should not even be brought to discusion on such a ridiculous matter.

It has come to my attention that what many historical experts on the tattoo trade consider to be the oldest and most historical tattoo shop is slated to close or relocated. Which in my mind is a travesty. How many businesses can boast that they're in the same location, plying the same trade since the mid to late 1800's? During that time we've seen tattooing go through so many changes, from a back alley business to being the topic of documentaries, news articles, and television series. And through all these changes (and most probably), that very tattoo establishment has played a role in those changes. Many of our top and influential tattooers have worked under the roof of Nyhavn 17. As a tattooer of 30 yrs and a huge advocate of tattoo history I feel it would be a terrible thing if we lost such a big part of our history. Also, as a business owner of two tattoo shops and a restaurant there is another issue at hand that bothers me. This particular tattoo shop has been under this roof for so long, possibly under different ownership, but obviously being a loyal tenant. Is the shop owner's pay off for this loyalty and tenure to be evicted? Does the landlord have no appreciation for having such a long term tenant? I ask you the reader to consider this and so many other pleas to try and maintain this location as a working tattoo studio as well as a place of historical importance. Even Prince Frederik would probably feel the same as we do about Nyhavn 17. Thank you for your time and consideration, Mike Schweigert Electric Tattoo Black Panther Tattoo

We as a people must preserve our history, least we forget where we came from and the struggles it took to get there....if we don't save it, future generations will never no how great a people we were.....only how selfish we became....
