The Worcestershire Archive and Archaeology Service should be protected, an invaluable resource and our duty to both past and future generations.

We cannot afford to loose our history.

Funding of this archive is exactly what a council should be doing, try saving on some money of the massive salaries and expense claims instead. It is woth writing to your MP, government policy has brought this crisis on.

This is a backward step and should be resisted.

Although living in Warwickshire, many of our town's previous records, especially those relating to older dwellings, were sent to Worcester when that was the administration for this town. I feel strongly that reductions in this service will impact negatively on future generations' education and ability to research the past.

We've already lost the Elgar archives to London, please don't let's lose anything else.

This is a resource that must be maintained both for our own generation and for those who come after us. We must not destroy evidence of our history.

Access essential part of bid for large tranche of public money for creation of Hive as well as to fulfill obligations to donors of archive and depositors.

These archives are irreplaceable and will be lost unless maintained

I have been using the Worcestershire archives for over 50 years and am appalled at the proposals. The cutting of this service will be a tremendous loss to the community and I urge you to think again

Living in New Zealand where archival material is much more recent we appreciate the immense and irreplaceable value of archived material available in England. Please maintain the Worcestershire Archives and Service provided for future generations.

Please consider the impact the cuts will have on this valuable service.

These proposals will wreck research and educational opportunities to explore Worcestershire's history and heritage, already damaged by the closure of the Schools Library Service. The Archives in the Hive hold educational and valuable historical material, good not only for the young but for those wanting to understand our past, which informs and shapes our future. What is to happen to the material given to Worcester Archives to keep it safe and available for historians - like the Housman Society papers, the papers connected with John Corbett, the Salt King, etc.

I have used Worcester archive recently to discover and learn about St Nicholas Church Alcester, for which many earlier records such as Bishops' notes are kept. Worcester was Alcester parish's former Diocese before it became part of Coventry.

I have used the Croome archive extensively, and have also donated family material. Access for research is vital.
