Save the Woodlands - Shenandoah Life Building Property

My young nephew is developing his love of hiking on Murray Run. Please don't take away this convenient and beautiful neighbourhood resource.

I live in Spring Valley Highlands. Our streets are already a major cut through for traffic all the way from Apperson to Brandon. High density housing will make the traffic intolerable and continue to lower our property values. We have already suffered additional traffic, crime and value loss from the conversion of apartments on Garst Mill to low income housing. I am totally opposed to any high density housing additions within 10 miles of Spring Valley.

Please help save the Woodlands. My kids and I love walking the paths, and seeing all that nature offers. Bringing apartments to this area will ruin it for the next generation

Please save our beautiful green space. Roanoke needs the beauty for future generations.

This project is SO wrong for the property and the neighborhood!

Roanoke represented itself well as a city with lots of green space, hiking and biking trails, etc or at least they did to Deschutes. This is a little piece of green space within the city that should stay green not be turned into high density housing

Integrated green spaces attract outdoor enthusiasts who usually follow their recreation with food and beverages from locally-owned businesses in the Grandin area.

I feel it is vital to save green space in the city. Please work to maintain this beautiful area.

Too pretty and peaceful to develop!

Let's honor the neighborhood plan adopted by Roanoke City Council on January 18, 2005. Cordial discussions and open minds will help us save our precious lands. We do not need more asphalt.

This de facto park space-combined with Fishburn Park and Murray Run greenway--creates a special oasis and encourages people to be active in the outdoors. We need more spaces like this, not fewer.

There is not a shortage of housing in the valley nor is there a shortage of impervious area. Go to any local waterway during a rain event and ask yourself if we really need to add more rooftops and asphalt. The woodlands provide a multitude of benefits to more citizens in their current state than an apartment complex will. Invest in the greyfields to bring them back to life. Convert the Shenandoah Life Building to a Carilion natural healing center and incorporate the woodlands into the practice. Nature heals. Save the woodlands!

I have many great memories of walks in these woods with my family. Please save this property for other families.

How much is enough?

This woodland and path is so valueable to our community. Once it is distroyed it will never be replaced.
