This park used to keep kids out of trouble by giving them a place to skate. A pickleball court is an out of touch solution.

The R'head Skatepark has served the recreational needs of hundreds of Riverhead (and non-resident)young people, my own sons included (one of whom was part of the original group of kids who started a petition to get it created!) If anything, it should be EXPANDED in size, not reduced to a shared space for pickleball. That seems like an absolute ridiculous plan. The top/bottom plan allows for beginners to safely practice, while the more experienced riders/bikers/bladers work the more advanced ramps. It should be fixed, maintained, and kept exclusively as a skatepark!- Jeesh, who comes up with these ideas???

The skatepark will be used so much more than the pickle ball court 30000 is way more than enough money to fix it up it doesn't even need that much it would be better as is than a pickle ball court

I really think that the skate park should be re-opened because it is a really good skatepark and tons of other people would love to have it open too.

Coming from a former employee, it's truly disappointing to see something like this happening. No excuses here.

My life would of been very different without this place growing up. It would kill me to see it being torn down for something that is just going to sit there.

Im not much of a skater or anything of that kind. But i know that this brings kids together and this doesn't need to be taken away.
