The bandstand is an important heritage asset and focal point in Whitehall Recreation Ground . Rugby at both good and bad times have gathered on these fields .

These bandstands are a part of our heritage and we should preserve them for future generations to enjoy - there is nothing better than a band playing in a bandstand!

Having played in brass bands many times on this bandstand, I believe it's important for the culture of Rugby to maintain this structure.

About time the council invested in the oldest public space/park in the town. It seems as though all the other parks in town have had inward investment yet Whitehall has only lost facilities and suffered from years of neglect.

Too many beautiful old buildings have been ripped down in this town. This beautiful bandstand should be restored and used again.

I agree with -anon- why does all the money have to go into caldecott park next to the town hall, yes it looks lovely but why cant we have two lovely parks? whitehall rec is next to the brand new leisure center, surely its worth doing up and am sure local people and groups would join in any painting etc.

This bandstand have been here since I moved to rugby 57years ago.two years ago we were told they upgrading the park full bright ideas nothing has become of any,the only thing I found they were going to put in was a skate park, for goodness sake wake up rugby council we don't need another skate park we need a water splashing area as Warwick, coventry have some people can't afford to go out there own area to these parks give so.ething back to the youngest generation for a change rant over maybe unless they do take bandstand away

Our town of Rugby will soon be like any other. Having these unique features disappear along with a great deal of our green space being swallowed up for development, there will be no signs of our original market town left. This is a very sad situation.

Its a shame to see such a traditional structure is under threat. I thought the council was promoting the towns heritage with the new rugby football museum or do they think we are JUST all about that?

Rugby proudly boasts a championship section brass banf in Bilton Silver (Rugby) Band. Surely the best way of enjoying these talented musicians is from a beautiful bandstand in the park.

As the bandstand was erected to celebrate Rugby getting its Borough Council status I feel RBC has a duty to find the funds to save this historic feature... it is so disappointing that RBC have not been maintaining the bandstand so allowing it to reach this point.
