This is a petition directed at the owners of West Ham United FC from some of the fans overseas who are unable to vote on the current crest consultation but as dedicated and lifelong supporters of the club would still like to have a say on the matter. We know we are moving to the new Olympic Stadium, but that should be not be sufficient reason on its own for our crest to change.

Our current crest is a classic design, and although it has evolved over the years, it does illustrate our club's historical association with the Boleyn Castle and with Thames Ironworks FC in the form of the crossed hammers. The design speaks of our passion and history. We think we should keep our current crest to show the world of football, that regardless of change, good times and bad or times when nothing changes, that our support, morals, beliefs and dedication to the club will never change. This should be illustrated by keeping the badge for many years to come.

The club propose to add "London" to the crest. To us this is unnecessary. We are not London, we are West Ham United, a passion in itself; supporting West Ham is not just a lifestyle... it's a lot more than that.

Nothing changes about our club with this move. The fans stay the same, the players the same, and the passion just as extreme as it has ever been. That means that, other than the ground move, there is no reason the current crest should change.

We sign this petition to show the club what WE as the fans think.

Come On You Irons!
