Probably too late, but the local Target store is very nice to have access to.

Target, stay or you'll lose customers to Walmart! All of us who live in West Dundee, Sleepy Hollow and Carpentersville all will have to pass Walmart to get to the closet Target and sorry I'll probably stop at Walmart since it's closer.

I agree wholeheartedly with Sam's comments. I would also like to add that I am very loyal once that becomes one sided, I take it elsewhere and, in this case, WILL take it elsewhere if our neighborhood Target is closed.

Looking at a map, it's easy to rationalize that there are other Targets nearby...but certainly not one close enough that I would transfer my prescriptions there. I'll use Walgreens for that now--which means all the serendipity of "I'm just running in to pick up an Rx, but I really *need* that adorable cardigan, and oh yeah, we're low on Kleenex and milk" business will be lost to Target. If I do actually need a cardigan, Kohl's, Carson's & Macy's are all much closer--heck, there'll even be two WalMarts closer to me, in either direction.

Closing this Target store will force consumers living in this community to shop outside of our community. I prefer shopping where I live and inscreasing the sales tax revenue for my own community and not surrounding communities that already have huge sales tax revenue.

I am not certain that companies care about the impact a closure has to a community as this store is just a performing asset on their books. I do know that if this Target store is underperforming it is a direct result of target placing stores in locations that siphon off business from each other. In this store's case the stores in Algonquin and Hoffman Estates/Barrington are Target Superstores and are less than 4 miles in either direction from the store in West Dundee. So, instead of deciding how they can improve this location they, instead, cut their losses and slink out of town! Pretty bad corporate citizenship. Doubtful now, between this act of bad community faith and their inability to protect credit card data, that I will shop at the other Target stores in the area.

The West Dundee store is an important part of our community. Every parent in our local school shops at this Target for school supplies, clothes and other things needed when you are raising a family. Every employee in the store is friendly and the store is ALWAYS clean. Please, please, please keep the West Dundee Target store open.

Target stores within a community is a store that communities can depend on. They also give money to the local schools. The Target in West Dundee is a must for this growing community.
