In this special time we need to take a stand wherever we can that connecting to what feels sacred, unifying and uplifting takes precidence over making money, profit and business as usual. We are all called upon to take the moral high ground, be courageous and risk really changing our evolutionary course which i think we all agree is not working for the majority lay alone the minority community of Native Americans. Please be courageous. Thank you.

City of Berkeley needs to show us they really meant what they said when they adopted the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Building on this shellmound, or others, is not ethical.

The city may indeed benefit from more space for retail and housing, but that doesn't make it right or okay to destroy the sacred place of the survivors of the Ohlone people.

The developer ought to build a memorial to the site on the new development, however the development should not be delayed or stopped. If there are laws on the books protecting such sites, let's respect those laws. Otherwise, call your representative so that this doesn't happen in the future.

Stop development at the Berkeley Shellmound. We must preserve the sites of the indigenous people who this land was so cruelly taken from. They were raped, killed, en-slaved and are still being treated with very little respect. We the people see this and are standing up for these disenfranchised people. Its unfair to take what little they have left for corporate gains. Have some respect and decency. Do the right thing.

We need to protect and preserve our native people's heritage. Indigenous peoples all over the world are having their cultures, knowledge, languages and histories erased by development and market forces. We can afford to preserve what is left of our California First People's history. Please do it.
