Save the Troy City Schools Reading Department

Can’t succeed in life if you can’t read.

I went to School 2 as a kid! Mrs.Amazon had me reading at a college level by 3rd grade! Respect her enough

Please stop spending $50 million dollars on a bond for new buildings; instead use the money you would use to pay that bond to keep this teachers. You have already bought the sports center on 5th from Sage; you can always sell it and use the money for the reading teachers. thank you

Eliminate some administrative staff. School districts are generally top heavy.

Pay the teachers dont cut tgem..

Previously I was a member of the Board of Education in East Greenbush. One is side that I and others found was that reading was paramount for the students. In my opinion if one conducted a needs analysis, one item that would surface would be " when one starts dismantling reading, math, etc., then the education system of teaching students becomes comprised. Surely there are other areas where items can be eliminated.

English is one of the most vital fundamentals of learning regardless of the age.

Reading teachers are needed and essential

How awful for the kids! How will tiers of intervention so vastly needed be done. Teachers need assistance with the pandemic and having kidscreturn on so many levels!

Please don’t remove the reading department.

it would be a great loss if the Troy School District were to eliminate reading in the public schools. I know from personal experience how important reading is for children who struggle with reading and comprehension. The Troy School district has greatly improved my child’s reading. Please reconsider the elimination of the program. I’m sure there are other areas where cost can be cut. Thank you

I truly cannot believe that since school is for the EDUCATION of our CHILDREN you would have them miserably UNDEREDUCATED by denying them the opportunity to better themselves and society. Are you thinking of the children? Instead of having them able to read and understand for their future ahead you would rather have students dabble in art, music and sports?? Absolutely atrocious. I sincerely hope you will reconsider your decision. Thank you

Ridiculous what administrators are paid. Cut there first.

When you can read you can go anywhere, do anything. The whole world opens for you. Find some other way to cut costs!

I grew ah and went to school in Troy. I am so proud of my niece. She is among the special reading teachers that you think you can get along without. When you have kids graduating that can barely read, let alone understand it, you better think about this. You will be doing a great injustice to those children.
