I practiced at OVMC as Chairman of the Department of Medicine and Director of Medical Education from 1978 until I retired in 2011. Ironically, I was employed by WVU, and a member of the WVU School of Medicine faculty, as we had a division of the WVU School of Medicine at the OVMC. I would like to see some lasting memorial to the long history of patient care at the OVMC as part of the new WVU Cancer Center, though I am not confident that it will happen. I don’t know or even hope that the OVGH “tower” and sign can be incorporated into the new complex, but I hope something can be done to honor the long history of OVGH/OVMC.

There’s a lot of history that means the world to people in this area. Not to mention so many of my siblings, family and friends always counted on OVMC

You would think it was an historic property worthy of restoration. I would repurpose it.
