I am from Memphis, Tn..born & raised and it is a shame that politicians, THE PEOPLE'S EMPLOYEES, there are trying to erase & eradicate the history of the South rather than preserve it and teach it & promote it to the next generation. Dispicable!!

We condemn conquering armies in foreign countries for destroying historical relics and places . . . shall we do the same? Bedford Forrest was a hero of his time, respected by North and South, black and white. I fear one of the major conflicts of the Civil War, state's rights, is once again a source of great contemplation. Leave history, historical places, graves, and statues alone. Go there, walk reverently among the headstones, statues or monuments. Kneel and pray that we will never again be led into such a struggle again. Amen!

The names of the three Memphis Parks honor three great men of the Antebellum South. We do not need to air-brush history as the Soviets did. The Civil War is a part of American history, I am proud to be a Southerner, and I salute the Confederate flag with "reverence,
affection, and undying remembrance.."

History should never be hidden or changed. Constitutionally, this is a horrible strike against the First Amendment.

The cultural fascists in the US and its spiritual followers attach great importance to symbols. This is the reason for monument-fall in the South., along with name changes, and the attack on historical memory. The immediate task of building a nationalist state is to erase the symbolism of a past age from peoples' minds. Old symbols must be quickly replaced with new ones, and the history sanitized to fit a devious political expediency.

I was born and have lived in the north all my life but am equally appalled over the attempts to remove the Battle Flag. It is a symbol of the courage of those who fought and died fighting for it. It is also disturbing to hear of the moves to remove monuments which also honor the courage of those who fought in the war between the states. Most of all attempts to ban tbe display of the flag on graves is disgraceful. Political correctness in this country is out of control and if we don't take a stand on thing's like this all our freedoms will be slowly taken away.
