Final supporters
Residents of Santa Clara are being encouraged to make their voices heard regarding a recent request for a zone change for 9.89 acres located on the South end of Gates Ln. on the South side of Clary Hills Dr. The request is for a zone change from R-1-10/RA (residential) to a planned development residential (proposed vacation rental resort and the construction of a seond access to the south hills from Chapel St.). Residents are being asked to spread the word to friends and family, email letters to each city council member stating the reason for you opposition to the zone change, sign this petition, and attend the City Council Meeting held of June 8th at 5pm to show our dissaproval of the change.

While some growth is good for a community and the economy, this kind of growth will devistate the small town feel of our community. The very reason so many chose to live here. The impact on the roads, the access to it, and the potential continual growth to cover those hills will snowball. I'm totally against this.
Santa Clara is such a beautiful and quiet place to raise a family. I love that it is about family, neighborhood, and community. Rental properties do NOT fall into that ideal.
Would rather keep Santa Clara's "hometown feeling." I also have concerns about blue clay. I can't imagine there is not blue clay and if one of these proposed buildings developed a crack or tumbled, I suspect somehow that we the citizens of SC would have to pay.
This zone change may help the city's funds, but it will be horrible for the reputation of Santa Clara as a small, quaint and family-oriented town, not to mention the traffic increase and danger to our city's children and adult pedestrians.
I do not feel that this fits in the agriculture, nor the homes. Further as you look south from the Jacob Hamlin Home it will be a distraction from the historic district. This would look good in the Rental Units above Lava Ridge. Please do not change the zoning.
We like it rural. How about some half to one acre horse zoned property.
If we loose what we have that makes Santa Clara the beautiful city it is it will be gone forever

I am against this zone change. Keep the valley and the farm land that we love alone! If the city really feels that high/density Vacation homes are necessary- put them where it is already zoned to do so. Be courageous as the City Council of St. George was recently!
