We find ourselves once again challenged and deterred by on going hurdles put forth by council fees and outrageous policies. We are encouraged by the government and council as small business to give it a go! But unfortunately the reality of it all is it is a constant up hill battle with fees and regulations crippling any attempt at a successful business. Burliegh social have not only created an amazing cafe in a unique area on the out skirts of Burlieigh, it has also added character to the suburban area attracting all walks of life. We constantly hear council and government talk about "pro change" so why instead of saying "NO" we work along side these small risk taking businesses for an outcome that benefits everyone and every party. Regulations and restrictions need to evolve with the fast growing city we live in. If two years of positive vibes and trade by a cafe in a tin shed, is not a good indictor for grounds of approval, i am not sure what is? Don't save the social support the social and rad local small businesses on the coast taking the leap.
