I live on the same street as Social - so if anyone should be annoyed about parking it'd be me.. But quite the opposite: I love what the guys have done with Burleigh Social! Everyone on our street has off-street parking, so who cares if the street gets busy? Bring it on! I will be very pissed off if the council forces them to close - Councillor Young please sort this out. We need more of this type of business in Burleigh, not less!

First they challenged Foodworks with an unwanted Woolworths (that didn't meet councils own local characteristic requirements anyway) . Locals answered by supporting Manny, The Organic Pantry and Burleigh Social. Locals are trying to keep our sense of place... If you want to get rid of something start with commercial giants 7Eleven & Coffee Club then see what can be done about the lack of RSA in the area.

A real shame if this were to close. Its a gem loved by locals and helps define the hospitality scene as diverse and sophisticated in Burleigh through its on point menu and relaxed venue.

What a joke.. dose that mean Paddock Bakery is made to close too..they contribute to the parking and traffic.. or are they the ones complaining about competition?

Burleigh social is a fantastic cafe that locals love. It's just one of many cafes in recent times to open up in residential areas and if anything creates a sense of atmosphere away from the normal tourist spots. It's somewhere that people who live in the area can walk to without having to get in a car and drive too. It would be a big diaaappointment to see it go.
