To lose The Smell would be a great injustice to the underground community of greater Los Angeles and beyond. Like many signing this petition I visited the smell in my mid teens and was immediately exposed to an array of not only live music and performance but visual art as well, stimulating my mind in ways I'd never before experienced. The Smell was a revelation to me and opened my eyes and ears to the possibilities of limitless creation, free of judgement or oppression. I felt at home here, surrounded by likeminded concert goers, most of whom I'd see each time I went, and most of whom I became friends with quickly, a community you could call it. Though I haven't been in years The Smell still sits high in my mind, an uncompromising being in a sea of followers aiming for a hole that someone else created. The Smell created its own hole, please don't take that away.
